  • [es-pree de less-ka/-iay] (idiom) A witty remark that occurs to you too late, literally on the way down the stairs. The Oxford Dictionary of Quotations defines esprit de l'escalier as, "An untranslatable phrase, the meaning of which is that one only thinks on one's way downstairs of the smart retort one might have made in the drawing room."

I hate Christmas. Everything about Christmas. Snow. Food. Family. ESPECIALLY CAROLS. I would e-strangle you for singing.

Matt made me a Christmas mix, however, and included a duet of Little Drummer Boy sung by David Bowie and Dean Martin. It blows the mind.

HAHAHA! I know you do. You know what makes me a little sick? I'm kind of obsessed with Michael Buble singing "Let it Snow." It's now my favorite cover of it. I died a little inside when I found out who sang it.

Thanks for the kind words and the link, Claire! Glad you liked it. Merry Christmas!!
